Wellness
Northside Animal Hospital offers a Wellness Program with a focus on preventative medicine based on your pet’s specific life-stage. Each pet will be assessed individually, looking at factors such as their age, species, breed, and environment. Our recommendations for prevention, nutrition, and diagnostic work-ups will be specific for your pet to help keep them healthy.
Our goal is to help educate you on procedures and medications that will benefit your pet.
The key to Northside Animal Hospital’s Wellness Program are regular health examinations. When you bring your pet in every 6 months he or she will receive a physical exam and our recommendations for vaccines and age appropriate diagnostics (such as parasite testing and blood work) which help screen for early signs of disease.
Pet Vaccinations –Why is it important to Vaccinate
Today it is much easier to protect our companions from serious or even deadly diseases with the high-quality vaccines that are available to veterinarians. When a vaccine is given, it triggers an immune response that helps your pet fight infections or may completely prevent a disease. In many states, vaccines such as rabies, are required by law – due to the fact that rabies is a disease that can be spread from animals to people and can be fatal.
Vaccination Timeline
At Northside Animal Hospital, we will evaluate your pet and depending on their age, health, size and risk of exposure – we will discuss and develop a vaccine schedule to keep your pet healthy.
New puppies and pets that do not have a history of vaccination may need several vaccines to bring them up to date. By vaccinating, it helps protect your pet and your family from infections and illness. The cost of vaccinating is part of keeping your pet healthy – it is also much less expensive and less stressful than treating a serious disease.
